Before your conversation

Write down your questions. Tell the assessing healthcare professional about any previous procedures. Medical history and medication belong in the clinical assessment; do not change medication on your own.

The treatment plan

Clarify the scope, the licensed facility where treatment would take place, the roles of those involved and your follow-up contact. Read your written plan before making travel decisions.

The early period

Tenderness, crusting or swelling can occur. Follow the personal instructions given for washing, sleep, activity and returning to work. Discuss surgical risks such as bleeding, infection and scarring beforehand. Contact the care team about unexpected symptoms.

Change over time

Transplanted hair can shed in the first weeks. New growth becomes apparent over months; evaluating the appearance requires longer follow-up. General time ranges are not a promise of the same speed or result for everyone.
